BLACK FOREST CAKE RECIPE-A REAL ONE



BLACK FOREST CAKE a yummy one likes by all.so thought to share here for all my blog reader friends.here is the recipe….
 INGREDIENTS:
Maida-175grms
Castor sugar-200 grms
Coaco powder-25gms
Egg-6
Melted butter-50ml
Vanilla essence-1tsp
Baking powder-1tsp
Baking soda-1pinch

FOR ICING:
Chocolate cake-1
Whipped cream-150gms
Sugar syrup-2cups
Canned cherry-1/2cup
Rum-few drops(optional)
Cooking chocolate-150gms

METHOD:
Pre heat the oven at 180c
Sieve maida+coaco powder +baking powder+baking soda
Separate egg yolks and white
Whisk egg white till fluffy and stiff
Add sugar gradually and beat till stiff
Then add egg yolk one by one and beat well
Add vanilla essence to eggs and beat
Fold in maida and coaco powder,baking powder and baking soda with light hand
Fold in the oil or melted butter
Grease and coat the tin and pour the batter in the tin
Bake for 25-30mins

FOR ICING:
Whisk the whipped cream with electric beater,till it becomes stiff and form peaks.
Add colour(chocolate brown)and essence(vanilla)into the whipping cream and mix well.
Slit the cake into 3 layers
Add rumto the sugar syrup if needed
Take the final layer,sprinkle sugar syrup then apply the whipping cream on top of icing arrange the cherry pieces on it.
Place themiddle layer and do the same as the bottom layer
Then place the top layer and sprinkle sugar syrup and apply the king on top
Now put icing on the sides
Add the decoration on top with cherries,chocolate etc….

TIPS:
If the whipped cream is in the state of powder form:
Whipped cream-100gms + 2tbspn milk powder + 100ml milk or cooled water and beat them all


METHOD OF MAKING SUGAR SYRUP:
Sugar-1/2cup
Water-1 ½ cup
Boil sugar and water together for 2-3mins till sugar dissolves.
Less sugar can be added if you want cake,less sugar.

COCONUT LADOO

COCONUT LADOO IS A VERY TASTY ONE WHICH I LIKE MOST.VERY EASY TO PREPARE.U CAN EITHER USE SUGAR NOR CONDENSED MILK.HERE I USED SUGAR TO MAKE COCONUT LADOO
COCONUT LADOO:
THINGS NEEDED:
 Grated coconut-1cup
sugar/condensed milk-1/2cup
ghee-1/2tsp
cardomom powder-1tsp

procedure:
*combine the grated coconut,sugar/condensed milk&ghee in a heavy bottomed pan
*allow the sugar to melt&cook on a med.flame.stir continously until get a thick mixture.it will take aroung 8-10mins
*when it thicken add cardomom powder&mix
*turn off the flame&allow it to cool
*shape the mixture into a round ball
*garnish it with roasted cashew on top

FREE HAND KOLAMS






MY STYLE OF VATHAKULAMBU

I personally  like vathakulambu very much.it tastes yummy .......kootu goes well with vathakulambu .ok ll see how to do this.Here iam going to post step by step procedure with photos.here we go...

INGREDIENT;
Tamarind-lemon size
Garlic-20pcs(u can use sundakkai,manathakkali vathal,pearl onion anything)
Chill pwd-1tsp
Coriander pwd-2tsp
Turmeric pwd-1/4 tsp
Salt-to taste
Oil-5tbsp(bcos it tastes yummy if u add more)
Curry leaves-1stem
FOR SEASONING
Mustard seeds-1tsp
Fenugreek seeds-1tsp
Asatofeotida-1/2tsp
 PROCEDURE
In a kadai pour oil add m.seed,f.seeds asatofeotida when m.seed splutters add garlic n curry leaves
now add c.pwd,d.pwd,t.pwd
now add tamarind extract and add stone salt and bring  it to boil


switch off the stove once it get thicken and oozing out oil
now it is ready to eat

padi kolams are put on tuesdays and fridays infront of the house and in ocasions and in festival.In padi kolams kaavi(meroon colour water based paint)is used to draw borders.it enhance the kolam.
